Job Responsibilities
Prilyckegatan 149 is a residence with special services.
Here, seven users live, and the operation also includes a satellite apartment located a short distance from the residence. Our users have intellectual disabilities and are on the autism spectrum.
As a support pedagogue, you have overall responsibility for the educational work within the operation. Your role is to gather and disseminate knowledge about methods and approaches, ensuring that they are used and developed effectively. Together with the workgroup, you establish, implement, and follow up on routines, action plans, and activity descriptions. This way, we all become better at understanding needs and providing the right support, allowing more individuals to live a good and independent life like everyone else.
As a support pedagogue, you ensure that social documentation and implementation plans are established, further developed, and followed according to laws and guidelines. You act as support and guide for each individual employee, the workgroup, and you also provide support to the manager. You guide the workgroup based on the needs and methods of the operation. Together with your colleagues, you play a central role in the quality development of the operation and the systematic improvement work.
You are part of a network with other pedagogues and collaborate with relatives, guardians, and other key individuals to ensure that the tenants receive good care, support, and services.
The residence with special services offers support around the clock. We base our work on the needs of the tenants and need to adjust working hours accordingly. Working hours are scheduled for day, evening, and weekend shifts as needed. We use Time Care Planning for operationally adapted and flexible schedules.
Qualifications
For the position of support pedagogue, a post-secondary specialization in the disability field is required, encompassing at least 200 vocational training points, 120 university credits, or 60 university credits with two years of work experience with individuals with disabilities. The education should include relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent.
Communication and documentation are important parts of the job, which requires that you have a passing grade in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1. Those who do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1 may be offered to take a language test through the testing user Educateit.
It is a requirement for the position that you have prior experience working as a support pedagogue.
It is advantageous for the position if you have knowledge and experience in low-arousal approaches, alternative and augmentative communication, clear pedagogy, independent living, person-centered needs, and motivational interviewing.
You convey information and ideas clearly both verbally and in writing. You ensure that your message gets across. You adapt your communication according to the recipient, target group, and situation. You are attentive and open to understanding the needs, feelings, and opinions of others. You are receptive to what others say or express and show respect, consideration, and care in your interactions. You work well with others by listening, showing interest, and respect. You plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively. You ensure that tasks are completed on time and follow up on results.
